How do people manage fever in rapidly developing countries?

R&D Innovation

Client

A global healthcare and consumer company

The Challenge

Identify the needs of people during early stages of pain and fever. Make sense of the cultural, social and economic factors that influence people's treatment choices in Lagos (Nigeria), Batam (Indonesia) and Brasilia (Brazil). Identify opportunities for new digital services and pack opportunities and communicate this back to the business.

Ethnography

Naked Eye spent 16 days in each city, working in different neighbourhoods in Lagos, Batam and Brasilia. From visiting traditional herbalists to observing the role of apps on smartphones, our analysis made sense of the range of their behaviours and people’s unmet needs.

Outcome

A virtual reality film for a leadership congress. Broadcast quality insight films. Recommendations for technology, service and pack innovation for the Global R&D innovation team.
