To develop real life stories to raise awareness of hATTR amyloidosis and the importance of early diagnosis for the company's European educational public-facing campaign.
Video ethnography was carried out across 7 EU markets with people living with the condition from all different walks of life. Translations and closed capture work was added to the films to support uptake and dissemination by local patient advocacy groups.
The videos are the cornerstone of the company's internal and external disease awareness plans, and part of the collaboration with the leading international amyloidosis umbrella patient association. The stories have driven traffic to the website, been used as part of media events, supported local patient advocacy groups helping raise the overall profile of the disease. They have been used to educate and motivate Alnylam employees on what it is like to live with the disease and the need for new treatments to transform lives.
