The Ventures team at a global technology company hosted an IoT Smart Home Accelerator program for start-ups on their campus. The purpose was to learn more about the working practices of early stage companies building IoT software and hardware using cloud connected devices and evaluate the success of their first Accelerator programme.
Ethnographers and a specialist UX company in Seattle studied six different start-ups over a 3-month period. We learned how and why start-ups used different tools and resources to develop their ideas, advance their prototypes and get their product to market.
